Q/A---Projects

Alright, so I just had a light-bulb inspiring idea. We should have a Q/A thing, so people can comment a question, or email it in, and we can answer it. Of course, we wouldn't be able to answer every question, but there was a question from Shaynie that I thought would be very good to answer.

Q: The only problem I am having right now is I CAN'T write anything lately. I have several open projects, and I don't know which one to sit down and finish! what should I do about that?

A: First off, it's a good thing that you have more then one project open. I think that you should have at least two, because then you can change from one to another depending on your mood. It's hard to write one story when you aren't in the right mood for it. I would say that you should pick the one that is the most important to you, maybe the one that you want to have published or the one that you like the plot of the best. Then I would write that one. If you get tired of it, take a break for a couple days and write another one. If you get attached to the other one when you start writing it, then you can write both if you have time, or you can just tell yourself that one can wait. There's no one rushing you to write, you can take your time and write what you want. I think setting daily goals for yourself is good, also get into the feel of the book. Play music that helps with is, look at pictures of what you imagine the scenery to look like, do a character profile (more on that later) whatever helps you get in the mood. I hope that helps! iGirl

  2. Thanks Shaynie, does that answer your question thoroughly enough. I was worried that it would be one of those posts that was a "duh, I knew that" sort of thing. I tried my best with the answer. I'm glad you like it :)

  3. Music really does help writing, one thing I've tried to do is keep a notebook of quotes I think of, story scenes, short, one page character bios. In most of the things I'm writing right now, (with other people, that's also fun to do) I have a DC for my main character. Admittedly they''re more fun to right than perhaps most other personalities. Of course I always plan on converting them :-)

P.s. iGirl, do you think that you and Izori could put a playlist of your favorite songs to play while you're writing?
