I know that everyone has come to this question, or will at some point or other. It's not at all fun when you've suddenly run out of books to read, so here are some suggestions for you :). BTW, once again, some of these books Izori hasn't or wouldn't read, so if you disagree with something I say, keep in mind that it's my opinion and not Izori's (necessarily).
Fantasy
Book 1: Princess Academy by, Shannon Hale.-- **** (4) out of ***** (5) stars. Ages 9&up, 336 pages. It's not a hard read and a good book to enjoy when you're in between other books. CAUTIONS: None. It won a Newberry Honor :)
Book 2: Rowan Hood: Outlaw Girl of Sherwood Forest by, Nancy Springer--. *** (3) out of ***** (5) stars. Ages 9&up, 192 pages. It's a little on the odd side and not the best book, more for girls then boys. CAUTIONS: There is talk of Rowan's mother being a witch (and she does have magical powers).
Book 3: The Two Princesses of Bamarre, by Gail Carson Levine--. *** (3) out of ***** (5) stars. Ages 8&up, 272 pages. It's a fun book, but the ending isn't satisfying for me. CAUTIONS: None that come to mind.
Family
Book 1: The Sister's Club, by Megan Macdonald---. **** (4) out of ***** (5) stars. Ages 7&up, 192 pages. It's a super fun book to read, a little bit hard to follow, but still tons of fun. CAUTIONS: There is a little bit of talk about kissing a certain boy in a play.
Book 2: The Mother-Daughter Book Club, by Heather Vogel Frederick--. **** (4) out of ***** (5) stars. Ages 8&up, 288 pages. Great book about girls who are in the 5th grade, I believe. CAUTIONS: One girl has an avid crush on a classmate.
Out of the Ordinary
Book 1: Alex and the Ironic Gentlemen, by Adrienne Kress--. ***** (5) out of ***** (5) stars. Ages 10&up, 320 pages. READ THIS BOOK, you will not be sorry, this is the best stand alone book I have EVER read. CAUTIONS: It's about pirates, so there are some... interesting characters. One person who dies has a drink problem. The pirate captain is very cruel. (Still, you should read it!)
Book 2: A Series of Unfortunate Events, by Lemony Snicket--. **** (4) out of ***** (5) stars. Ages 10&up, page numbers vary from 100something to 300something. These books are great, really, really great. CAUTION: Murder, cruelty, stalking and stealing, nothing big though. (Well, it is the point of the book but it's nothing horrible.)
So there you have it! Those are a few of my favorite books, there are others but I really love those. Have fun reading!
