Pep talk 1

DON'T READ UNLESS YOU NEED. IT WILL RUIN IT FOR WHEN YOU NEED IF YOU READ NOW. :)

Aah! I don't think I can finish this, I have so much school, I'm so tired, I have chores and soccer (or something else) I don't have time to write!!!!!!!!!! Besides, my story is turning out horribly.

Solution: Breath, just take a deep breath. First you want to inhale and make your stomach get big, then you want to say EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE for a while, until you're out of breath. I'm not kidding, it's very relaxing. Once you've done that look at your writing. Don't scream. Don't cry. Don't shout out dramatically like you're on a soap opera. Just look. Think for a moment, think about how much work you have put into your writing, don't think about successful writers that 'have better books than you'. Focus on your own work. Then set up a couple rules for yourself.

1. I will not dis my writing (say it out loud)
2. I will write for 15 minutes a day when I wake up, and 15 minutes before I go to bed. (or however long you have, even if it's just 5 minutes)
3. I will not write while I am doing school. I won't let it distract me. School is for school, not creativeness.

So there you have it. Calm down, your writing will wait for you. If you have a great idea all the sudden, jot it down so you remember it, then think nothing of it. Say all of these out loud. Remember, you can take a break from writing. Besides, you've got this in the bag, you are doing great :).
