I'm sorry that this blog has been vacant for a while. I've gotten a cold and lost my voice and I thought that I had posted on the 14th and was waiting for Izori to post next. Dear me, I goofed.
Anyway, there really isn't anything much to post about. I just wanted to point something out about old books.
Did you realize that a lot of old books have short chapters? Look at Pride and Prejudice, the chapters are really short most of the time. And in Les Miserables, same thing. I remember starting Sense and Sensibility and the chapters were short there too. I don't think there's anything wrong or right about it, I just thought that it was funny.
If you look at books now, the chapters are super long! Personally, I prefer the shorter chapters because I can stop reading at certain intervals and it doesn't take forever to finish the chapter. But also, when I'm in the middle of the action I like to stop mid-chapter because it seems to me that when there's action, the chapter ends in a cliff-hanger.
I guess that's sort of a good thing because people will keep reading, but it's also kind of annoying.
Which sort of chapter do you prefer?
