Find Your Time (Part 1)

We all have heard the terms 'morning person' or 'night person'. A morning person is the one always up at 6 am in the morning, always peppy and ready to go (however, by the end of the day they're ready for bed). On the other hand, a night person is heavy-eyed and dragging anytime before 9:00 am, but as the evening begins they start to find their beat.

Those are both sort of exaggerated pictures, but the point remains: a morning person is more efficient in the morning, and a night person does their best in the evening/night. Of course, there are all sorts of varying degrees. You might not be either--you could be an 'afternoon person' or a 'late-morning person'. But nearly everyone has a certain time in the day when they are the most energetic, productive, and focused. I myself am more of a night person with a generous dash of late-morning.

It's pretty important to figure out what time goes well with you. Being the time when you're at your best, 'your time' can be woven into your daily plans. Because I'm more toward the 'night/late-morning side, I like to do most of my school work in those times. I save my other projects that don't require my best mind, like piano or blogging, for the afternoon (I reserve mornings for sleep, which is just about all they're good for with me-- no offense to any morning people).

Although finding your time is helpful with whatever you do, it's especially helpful with writers. You see, everyone needs all the help they can get when they're writing. Once you figure out when you work best, you can use that time on Saturdays to write. I find that my writing in the evening or late morning is much more enthusiastic and enjoyable than in the afternoon.

But how exactly do you find your time? Check back for the second part of this post, coming soon!

Yours without wax,

Izori
