I'm a super music-y person, I think better with music, I'm in a better mood with music, I love music. Can I play an instrument? No, but still I love music. I'm also a dancer, so music is very inspiring to me. As I get older in my dance and writing furthers, music has more of an impact on me. In one case of the song Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol, I was inspired for a dance and a book.
Now the dance would have to have two people, so I just have the idea in my head, I'm not really doing it. But I can do it with the book.
We'll do it all, everything, on our own.Chasing Cars opens and those are the words you hear after the intro. So when I think of this song, I think of people who may be an odd couple together, so they have to get by on their own because they have little to no support.
We don't need, anything, or anyone. This pretty much just backs that feeling up, they're happy together and they don't want to change that.
If I lay here, if I just lay here, would you lie with me and just forget the world.
This makes me think of how people can have differences and fights and problems bigger than themselves, but if they can put it aside they can, "forget the world" something simple they do together. Stargazing comes to mind.
I don't quite know how to say how I feelOne of these two people hasn't been completely honest with the other for some reason because they don't want to let the other one down.
Those three words are said too much, they're not enoughThe one person who's been lying feels like they need more than words and promises to keep with each other.
Now it goes back to the chorus. After it says "just forget the world" it goes into:
Forget what we're told, before we get too old, show me a garden that's bursting into life.So the other person is saying that it's okay and even though people think they aren't mature enough or smart enough, they can work through they're problems and they shouldn't let the other's issue push them away.
Let's waste time chasing cars around our heads. So basically even though they have problems, it doesn't change the fact that they still love each other.
And it basically goes on like that for a while. This song seriously gave me a full-blown idea for a novel and I'm currently on chapter four or five.
So that's how this song inspired me, have any songs inspired you for a book, short story, poem or another song?
