You all have it, right?
Most of the time, even if people don't like reading, they have a summer reading list because their moms or teachers make them. Me? I have one for fun because I like reading.
The fun thing about summer reading is that you can choose what you want to read and how much of it you want to read. It's very loose for most people, for me I made a schedule. Because I love schedules. I have 12 books on my reading list this summer, and I don't know if I'll be able to reach my goal or not. Hopefully, because I'm on track right now and a day ahead on one of the books.
Anyway, this is supposed to be about your summer reading list.
How do you choose what goes on it? Make it whatever you really want. If there's something you've been meaning to read but never got around to, you could read that. If friends tell you about a good book you can read that. Don't read something that you aren't interested in.
What's the point of summer reading? To exercise your brain over the summer. It's kind of like school but not as rigorous (wow, I just had a really hard time spelling rigorous). You don't want brain oatmeal, do you? Of course not.
How many? How many books should you have on your reading list? Well, I think it depends how ambitious you are. It's always better to over-plan than under-plan because then sometime in August you're going to run out of books! No good. I think that probably about five books is good. I have 12, and that's a bit much, but I wanted to do it. I think as much as possible, you can do whatever you put your mind to.
Schedule? No. If you don't have super long books or a lot of books, then there's not need to schedule at all. I love schedules, if someone else here loves schedules then you can do it. I think it should mostly be about what you feel like doing more than a daily goal.
So there are your tips for summer reading! I hope it helps.
