A challenge that a lot of writers face is the transition from notebook to computer. When we're younger, writing on a computer is very time consuming and we can't bring it other places like we can with a notebook, but then as we get older we realize that we're just going to have to type it up anyway. Most of the time. But which one is better?
I really think it depends on the writer.
In defense of notebooks: You can bring a notebook anywhere and they have a good amount of pages to choose from. Notebooks come in all different sizes, colors, designs and amounts of pages, so they're very flexible and nice to use. You can also be more creative with notebooks because you can draw pictures and doodle in the margins. Notebooks are definitely cool.
In defense of computers: Computers are easier to use in terms of typing for a lot of people, like me. You have endless amounts of pages and word counters, if you have to find something out you can look it up. If you're like me and you like to listen to music while you write (as I am right now) then the computer is a good choice. There are also all the different fonts that you can use and when you misspell something or use incorrect grammar, it tells you.
In short, both are useful tools towards writing, I prefer computers for books that I plan on finishing because otherwise I don't finish the notebook. Also, I find that notebooks can be deceiving because you might write 70 pages but when you type it up it might only be 30 because your handwriting is bigger than the font size.
I used to use notebooks for everything, I loved them and I think I probably had over 25. And I knew which all of them were. But for some reason, I couldn't stick to projects while using notebooks. But that's just me.
Which one do you prefer?
