I didn't know whether to post this on my writing blog or on this blog so I decided to post it on both because I'm just that sort of awesome :D. No, really, because I couldn't decide. So here I go. P.S *I'm going with my NaNoWriMo book, because it's actually finished.*
Who are the main characters?
Rhiannon Nicole Torix--she's fourteen and an avid reader. She's also very curious.
Wrynn--A spy for the Empress in Estralon and Rhiannon's love interest.
Empress Vorisia--The Empress of Estralon who is somewhat kill-crazy and a little paranoid.
Sasha--An outlaw with a peppy and fiery spirit who happens to be Rhiannon's doppelganger.
How did you get the idea for the story?
I got the idea when I was in writing class and NaNoWriMo was assigned. My teacher had us set our own word count goals, but I wanted to do NaNo anyway, so I just made my goal 50,000.
I had this original idea about a girl in a big brother society because for some reason I didn't really like it. So I was thinking of different things and for the first time, well I can't really say that because I don't know for sure, but it was out of the ordinary. I thought of the plot first, you know how you're in a book store and you're walking around and all the sudden after reading so much on the back of the books something came to me. And that was what came to be the novel.
Ta Da!!!
What Genre is the Story?
I'd say fantasy.
Describe your book in three thoughts.
oooooo, that hard.
Rhiannon is an avid reader, Wrynn is an avid worker, Vorisia is an avid ruler and Sasha is avid about everything she does. When the different worlds meet, interesting things are bound to happen.
Yeah, you could call that two thoughts, but I'm a rebel ;). JK
A bit that describes an obscure piece of real life best.
Neither one of them knew what to do with themselves, whether to tell the other person something that could be dangerous and offensive to them, or if they should just shut up
The funniest line a side-character has said thus far.
I think it all depends on what you consider a side character. My only real main character is Rhiannon but there are other characters on that list who are big parts but aren't completely main. So I'm going with one of Sasha's lines.
“Well I don’t have to be hired to get what I want.”
“Don’t go there, I’m warning you.”
“Oh, I’m so terribly frightened. Aren’t you frightened?” Sasha turned to Rhiannon, who shrugged.
I know there are better ones but I didn't really feel like flipping through my whole book.
Your biggest fear in writing this story.
That I had to skip over so many parts I wanted to write.
The last full sentence you wrote.
She realized that the wonderful book of Estralon had marked her forever.
Favorite character thus far.
AAH! I don't know! I like Sasha because she was SOO much fun to write but Wrynn and Vorisia were too. I think I'll go with Vorisia though because I think I did a pretty good job on writing her the way I intended.
What books have been written or have you read that are similar in style and flavor to your novel?
Hmm. I think writing style-wise, Adrienne Kress, Lemony Snicket or J.K Rowling. In terms of the flavor of my novel, even though I haven't read anything like this I tried to have a big-brother *or sister* theme to it, my sister read 1984 last year for school and I heard the discussion on it. I thought it sounded really interesting.
If it was destined to become a book on tape, who would you wish to read it?
Probably Christopher Lane, I really liked him.
