That's a very good question. Why write?
Maybe you're somebody who's been writing for years without asking yourself the question, maybe you've pondered on it a million times and want my opinion, or maybe you're a sane individual who is wondering why on earth do these crazy people write. It doesn't matter, because the question still needs answering.
We write because...we want to express ourselves. The art of words is a beautiful thing, and it can express anything. As humans, we need to communicate. Writing is an excellent way to do it. We can express a worldview, an emotion, a struggle, or simply an amazing time.
We write because...we've met many dear friends in the world of Ink, and we want them to become real to other people, too.
We write because...it's a calling. A mental illness, as some people say. We can't help writing as much as we can't help breathing.
Why do you write?
Yours without wax*,
Izori
*a literal translation of sincere, which used to be carved onto statues to say that no wax was used to correct mistakes
I like that...writing is like a mental illness. ;) I write because, technically, I HAVE to in this weird way!
ReplyDeleteWhoa...how on earth did the font get that big?
ReplyDeleteShaynie, you are so right! Writing is a mental illness. ;)
